These simple words can catapult the results you get through networking.  It does not matter if you are looking for a job, customers, information, anything.  The key is developing meaningful relationships.  I think we lose site of the ultimate goal sometimes when we expect that first one-on-one meeting to yield tremendous results.  Yes, sometimes it does but often times it is just the beginning.

You need to nurture the relationship in order for it to grow like a garden or to put it another way keep drilling until you strike oil.

Some will say I have 300+ contacts in my LinkedIn account, I’m well connected.  If speaking in terms of quantity, yes you are well connected but what about the quality of those connections?  Have you taken the time to really drill down with some of these connections, focusing on the ones which can be most beneficial to both parties?  I know I can do a better job of this myself and I will admit it takes a lot of work but the end result is worth the effort. You’ll probably strike oil.

Think of it this way.

Its better to have 10 deep and meaningful connections instead of 100 superficial ones.
